Entrance to the fortified village of Santa Margherita del Gruagno.Moruzzo (Friulian:Murùs) is acomune (municipality) in theRegional decentralization entity of Udine in theItalian region ofFriuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest ofTrieste and about 11 kilometres (7 mi) northwest ofUdine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,240 and an area of 17.9 square kilometres (6.9 sq mi).[3]
The municipality of Moruzzo contains thefrazioni (boroughs) of Alnicco, Brazzacco, Telezae, Modotto, and Santa Margherita del Gruagno.
