Morlaàs (French pronunciation:[mɔʁlas];Gascon Morlans) is acommune in thePyrénées-Atlantiquesdepartment in south-westernFrance.

It is the seat of acanton.

After theRoman city ofBenearnum (today's Lescar) was razed by theVikings in 841, Morlaàs became the capital of the ancient province ofBéarn. It remained the capital until the 12th century, whenOrthez took over.[3]
