Morisset railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on theMain Northern line inNew South Wales, Australia. It serves theCity of Lake Macquarie suburb ofMorisset opening on 15 August 1887 asMorrisset before being renamedMorisset on 1 February 1889.[3]
Morisset has two side platforms. It is serviced bySydney TrainsCentral Coast & Newcastle Line services travelling fromSydney Central toNewcastle.[4] Until October 2013 it was the terminating point for many local services fromthe old Newcastle station, however these now all continue toGosford and Sydney.
The remnants of the former freight yard are immediately north of the station including a southbound refuge loop.
