Mori Atas, also known asUpper Mori orWest Mori, is anAustronesian language of theCelebic branch. The traditional Mori Atas homeland is the upper course of theLaa River inCentral Sulawesi.
Mori Atas is classified as a member of theBungku-Tolaki group of languages, and shares its closest affinities with thePadoe language.[2] Together, Mori Atas andMori Bawah are sometimes referred to collectively by the cover termMori.
Mori Atas presents a complicated dialect situation. Following Esser, five dialects can be regarded as principal.[3]
