Morand Racing is anauto racing team founded by former racing driverBenoît Morand and based in the Swiss town ofMarly, Fribourg. The team traces its origins to 2000 when Morand foundedPoleVision Racing which competed in numerousopen-wheel series before switching tosports cars until 2011. The team was reformed as Morand Racing in 2012, and has competed in theEuropean Le Mans Series since 2013 with aMorganLe Mans Prototype.[1]
In 2015, Morand formed a partnership with the JapaneseSARD organization to compete in theFIA World Endurance Championship, expanding the team to two Morgan prototypes.[2]
For the2016 season, Morand partnered withMexican driverRicardo González to form "RGR Sport by Morand", driving the newLigier JS P2. The team won the opening round of the championship atSilverstone.[3] At their home race, the6 Hours of Mexico, they obtained victory, thepole position, and thefastest lap.[4]
