TheMonti Cimini, in English:Cimini Hills, are a range of densely woodedvolcanic hills approximately 56 km (35 mi) north-west ofRome. They are part of theAntiapennine range, facing theApennines main range towards theTyrrhenian Sea. They are situated in the centre ofTuscia Viterbese, the highest point atMount Cimino, 1,053 m (3,455 ft) abovesea level.Lake Vico, avolcanic crater lake, is situated in the hills.
The vegetation is predominantlybeech forestation. The area is renowned for its hotsprings,renaissancevillas andEtruscan ruins.
