Monkey Point (orPim's Bay) is a village inSouth Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region,Nicaragua, south ofBluefields.[1]
It is located near the site of a plannedUS$350 millionseaport, to be financed byIran andVenezuela.[2][3] More recently American andSouth Korean investors have expressed interest in developing acontainer terminal there.[4][5] This container terminal will be situated at theCaribbean end of the plannedEcocanal, which will link Monkey Point to the town ofCorinto on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua.
