Amolinillo is a traditionalturned woodwhisk used inLatin America, as well as thePhilippines, where it is also called abatirol orbatidor. Its use is principally for the preparation of hot beverages such ashot chocolate, atole, cacao, andchampurrado. The molinillo is held between the palms and rotated by rubbing the palms together; this rotation creates thefroth in the drink.[1] This process is the subject of a popular children'snursery rhyme in Mexico.[2]
