Mohammed Sangare (born 28 December 1998) is a Liberianfootballer who plays forNational League clubMorecambe.
Sangare was born inMonrovia, Liberia,[3] and moved to England at the age of 14.[4] His younger brother, Faisu, was part of theWolverhampton Wanderers under-23 setup.[5]
Sangare has played club football in England forAccrington Stanley andNewcastle United.[4] He was promoted to Newcastle's first-team in July 2019.[6]
He returned to Accrington Stanley on loan in August 2020.[7]
In May 2022, it was announced that Sangare would be released at the end of his contract.[8] Later that month it was announced that he would return to Accrington Stanley when his Newcastle contract expires on 1 July.[9]
In June 2023, it was announced Sangare would joinLivingston.[10] He left the club in July 2024.[11]
Following his departure from Livingston, Sangare signed for Swiss clubBellinzona on a one-year contract.[12]
On 20 August 2025, Sangare returned to England, joiningNational League clubMorecambe as the club's first signing following their takeover.[13]
Sangare received his first call-up to theLiberia national team in August 2018, for upcoming2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches.[4] He had to withdraw from the squad twice as he was awaiting his UK residence permit to be re-issued, meaning he was unable to travel.[14][15] He was recalled by the Liberian senior national team in March 2019.[16]
He made his debut for theLiberia national football team on 24 March 2019 in anAfrica Cup of Nations qualifier against DR Congo, coming on as a 73rd-minute substitute forAllen Njie.[17]
