Gambian football referee (born 1963)

Modou Sowe (born November 25, 1963) is aGambianfootballreferee who currently resides inGambia. He first became a full international referee forFIFA in 1998.

He was selected as a referee for the2004 African Cup of Nations inTunisia,[1] the2006 African Cup of Nations inEgypt,[2] and the2008 Africa Cup of Nations inGhana,[3] and officiated in qualifying matches for the2002[4] and2006[5] World Cups.

Sowe was named as a candidate referee for the2006 FIFA World Cup,[6] but was not selected for the tournament.
