Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. (ミツミ電機株式会社,Mitsumi Denki Kabushiki-gaisha) is a Japanesemanufacturer ofconsumer electronic components, founded in 1954.[3] Mitsumi has been a subsidiary ofMinebeaMitsumi since 27 January 2017, when it merged withMinebea to form the parent company.[4]
Mitsumi is primarily known as anOEM manufacturer of computer peripherals and input devices,floppy andoptical disc drives used inlaptop computers,desktops,servers and theFamicom Disk System. Prior to its merger with Minebea, the company was listed on theTokyo Stock Exchange, was a constituent of theNikkei 225stock index[5] and provided its products through its subsidiaries in Asia, Europe, and North America.[6]
