TheMitsubishi Z platform was a small-car platform jointly developed byDaimlerChrysler andMitsubishi Motors since 2001 and used in theMitsubishi Colt first introduced in 2003. It was also used a year later in theSmart Forfour, and was to have underpinned DaimlerChrysler'sSmart Formoremini SUV until that project was discontinued.
TheMitsubishi Colt, which was built at theNedCar plant inBorn, Netherlands, thePininfarinacarrozzeria inTurin, Italy and theOkazaki, Aichi plant inJapan, was the only "Z-car" in production which uses the platform.
