The foundation of the Missionary Methodist Church is part of thehistory of Methodism in the United States.[2] In 1913, aschism occurred in theWesleyan Methodist Church over the issues oftithing,women's ordination, and thewearing of jewelry.[1][3] Leading the formation of the Missionary Methodist Church inForest City, North Carolina, was H. C. Sisk (1866–1945).[4]
The Missionary Methodist connexion, which has fourteen churches, holds an annualcamp meeting.
