Miss Grand Rayong (Thai :มิสแกรนด์ระยอง ) is a Thai provincialbeauty pageant which selects a representative fromRayong province to theMiss Grand Thailand national competition.[ 1] [ 2] [ 3] [ 4] [ 5] Thai dramatic arts teacher, Somsak Thongpan (สมศักดิ์ ทองปาน [ 6]
Rayong representatives have yet to win theMiss Grand Thailand title. The highest placement they obtained in the contest was in the top 10 finalists, achieved in 2019 by Kanyalak Nookaew.[ 7]
In 2016, afterMiss Grand Thailand began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant. The license forRayong province was granted to a teacher, Somsak Thongpan,[ 6] Mueang Rayong district [ 5] [ 6] [ 8]
Occasionally, the pageant was co-organized with other provincial pageants; withMiss Grand Trat –Chanthaburi in 2017 and 2020,[ 9] Miss Grand Ang Thong in 2022 and 2023.[ 10] [ 11]
The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to theCOVID-19 pandemic in Thailand , the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for theinternational tournament was appointed instead.[ 12]
