Miss Grand Nigeria is a national femalebeauty pageant in Nigeria, established in 2015 by aLagos-based event organizer chaired by Loveth Ajufoh of QLA Nigeria.[1][2][3][4] The winners of the contest, which was conducted independently in 2015 and 2016, were designated to represent Nigeria at its affiliated international pageant, Miss Grand International.[2][3][5] Prior to this, in 2013, the national license was held by The Nigerian Princess;[6] it was subsequently transferred to AMC Productions, organizer ofMiss Earth Nigeria, in 2014, and later to QLA Nigeria Limited, 001 Entertainment—the organizer ofThe Nigerian Queen—and theQhue Group in 2015, 2020, and 2023, respectively.[7][8][9]

To date, Nigerian representatives have not secured theMiss Grand International title. The highest achievements by Nigerian delegates have been placements among the top twenty finalists, attained in 2021, 2022, and 2023.[10][11]

History

[edit]

Nigeria first participated in Miss Grand International in 2014, represented by Tessy Kiri Bibowei, appointed by Miss Earth Nigeria. In 2015, QLA Nigeria Limited, chaired by Loveth Ajufoh, organized the inaugural Miss Grand Nigeria pageant,[2][5][7][12] won by Ifeoma Jennifer Ohia of Plateau State.[2][13][14] The second edition was held in 2016,[15][16] followed by a virtual casting in 2017, after which QLA Nigeria ended its partnership.

The franchise returned toMiss Earth Nigeria in 2019 and was acquired by 001 Entertainment in 2020,[9] with winners ofThe Nigerian Queen subsequently serving as national representatives,[9] except in 2021 when the original titleholder was replaced by her second runner-up.[17] In 2023, the license was transferred to Seth Santiago Roberts, founder of Miss Tourism Africa,[18] and in 2025 to Corporate Hostess and Modeling Service, organizer of Miss Corporate Nigeria.
