Miss Grand France is a French female national beauty pageant,[1][2][3] held annually since 2019.[1] The contest's winners represent the country at its international parent platform, Miss Grand International.[1][4][5][6] Before 2019, all country representatives in such an international contest were appointed;[7][8] most of them were the Miss Prestige National finalists (currently,Miss Excellence France [fr]).[8][9][10][11]
The highest achievement reached by French representatives at theMiss Grand International pageant is the 3rd runner-up position, obtained bySafiétou Kabengele in 2024.[12]
France usually participates in almost every edition of theMiss Grand International pageant, except in 2018. In the first era of the procession, its representatives were appointed to join the contest by different national directors.[7][8] However, after an absence in 2018, Sonia Mansour, former Miss Grand France, purchased the franchise in 2019, and consequently ran the first contest of Miss Grand France on 4 July 2019, on whichCassandra De Sousa was named the winner, outclassed 8 other national finalists.[1] De Sousa later competed atMiss Grand International 2019 in Venezuela in October of that year but was unplaced.[13]
Later in 2021, Mansour lost the franchise to another organization, which continued to arrange the Miss Grand National contest; however, due to the health restrictions linked to theCOVID-19 pandemic, the competition was held privately and only consisted of five national finalists,[14] of whom a 24-year-old model fromAquitaine, Elodie Sirulnick, was announced the winner.[5][14][15] Along with the national crown, Sirulnick also won the prize for the Elegance and the Sympathy special awards.[14] The new organization later lost the license to a Venezuelan migrator, Robles Yanez of Celest Productions, in 2023.[16]
