Mio Momono (桃野美桜,Momono Mio) is aJapaneseprofessional wrestler currently working forMarvelous That's Women Pro Wrestling.[3] She is best known for her time with the JapanesepromotionsPro Wrestling Wave,Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling andIce Ribbon.[4]
Momono made herprofessional wrestling debut atMPUSA/NYWC Furinkazan III, a show promoted by New York Wrestling Connection in partnership with the US branch ofMarvelous That's Women Pro Wrestling on February 13, 2016 where she teamed up with Renee Michelle in a losing effort to Davienne andKyoko Kimura.[5] As a freelancer, she is known for competing in various promotions. At ahouse show promoted byPure-J on October 12, 2017, she teamed up withHanako Nakamori in a losing effort toCommand Bolshoi andLeon.[6] AtHana Kimura Memorial Show from May 23, 2021, an event promoted byKyoko Kimura to portrait one year from the passing of her daughterHana, Momono teamed up withAsuka,Syuri andNatsupoi to defeatOedo Tai (Kagetsu andHZK) and Tokyo Cyber Squad (Konami andDeath Yama-san).[7]
Momono wrestled forIce Ribbon for a brief period of time. AtNew Ice Ribbon #838 form September 23, 2017, she teamed up with Maruko Nagasaki as "Mabutachi 2" in anInternational Ribbon Tag Team Championshiptournament where they went into atime-limit draw against Best Friends (Arisa Nakajima andTsukasa Fujimoto).[8] AtNew Ice Ribbon #841 on October 9, she unsuccessfully challenged Fujimoto and Nakajima in athree-way match for theTriangle Ribbon Championship.[9] She made her last appearance in the company atNew Ice Ribbon #882 on May 5, 2018 where she teamed up withKyuri andTsukushi in a losing effort toMaika Ozaki,Saori Anou andTae Honma.[10]
Momono is known for competing in the promotion's signatures events such as theCatch the Wave tournament in which she made her first appearance at the 2018 edition, placing herself in the "Violence Block" and scoring a total of two points after competing againstAyako Hamada, Arisa Nakajima,Misaki Ohata,Hiroe Nagahama andHikaru Shida.[11] At the 2021 edition, she placed herself in the "Potential Block" where she metSakura Hirota,Miyuki Takase andTomoka Inaba and scored two points.[12]
As for theDual Shock Wave tournament, she made her only appearance at the2017 edition where she teamed up with her "Boss To Mammy" stablemateYumi Ohka to defeat Avid Rival (Misaki Ohata andRyo Mizunami) in a first round match but fell short to New-Tra (Rin Kadokura andTakumi Iroha) in the second round.[13]
Momono made her debut inSendai Girls' Pro Wrestling atSendai Girls 10th Anniversary Show on October 16, 2016 where she teamed up with Mika Iwata andAyako Hamada in a losing effort toAlex Lee,Hana Kimura andKyoko Kimura as a result of asix-woman tag team match.[14] AtSendai Girls Big Show 2017 from July 15, she teamed up withRin Kadokura and Mika Shirahime in a losing effort toAja Kong,Meiko Satomura andNanae Takahashi.[15]
