Career

[edit]

Suzuki loved singing ever since she was a child, and held an interest in voice-related work (such as singing, narration, and acting). In her elementary school years, she began to watchlate night anime, which inspired her to become a voice actor in order to do all the things she wanted to do. After saving up money working part-time in her first year of high school, she began to take lessons at a voice acting school in Tokyo once a week.[2] In October 2014, the creators of theMacross franchise announced that auditions were going to be held, with the winner being cast in a role in the upcoming anime television seriesMacross Delta.[3] Her mother was a fan ofMacross Frontier, and knowing Suzuki's dream of becoming involved in entertainment, pushed her to participate in the audition.[2] Having been inspired to participate in the audition due to her idolizingMegumi Nakajima, voice actress ofMacross Frontier's Ranka Lee, Suzuki auditioned for theMacross Delta role, and in 2015 was selected for the role from a pool of approximately 8,000 other applicants.[1][4][5] She was cast as Freyja Wion, the lead female character in the series, and a member of the fictionalidol group Walküre.[6][7]

Walküre's first single, which includes the series' opening theme "Ichido Dake no Koi Nara" (一度だけの恋なら; "If I Love Only Once") and ending theme "Rune ga Pikatto Hikattara" (ルンがピカッと光ったら; "When the Rune Sparkles"), as well as the song "Ikenai Borderline" (いけないボーダーライン; "Forbidden Borderline"), was released on May 11, 2016.[8]

In July 2017, Suzuki andMacross Delta co-starJUNNA were guests atAnime Expo in Los Angeles.[7]

Suzuki made her solo debut in 2018 when she performed the opening theme to the anime television seriesMs. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles.[9]

In late January 20, 2020, Suzuki made her YouTube debut to promote one of her singles "Yozora" for the animeKoisuru Asteroid.

On September 30, 2023, Suzuki announced that she left her talent agency E-Stone Music[10] The following day,Aoni Production announced that she had joined their agency.[11]

Personal life

[edit]

Suzuki listsMaaya Sakamoto,Megumi Nakajima,Nagi Yanagi andGalileo Galilei as among her influences in voice acting and music.[12] Suzuki was fond of Nakajima in particular, once having participated in one of the latter's handshake events.[13]
