Mina Shirakawa (白川未奈,Shirakawa Mina; born December 26, 1987) is a Japaneseprofessional wrestler andtarento. As of May 2025[update], she is signed toAll Elite Wrestling (AEW). She also makes appearances forNew Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) andRing of Honor (ROH), where she is a former one-timeinterimROH Women's World Television Champion.[3]

Shirakawa first gained recognition for her time inWorld Wonder Ring Stardom, where she became a two-timeArtist of Stardom Champion, one-timeWonder of Stardom Champion, one-timeGoddesses of Stardom Champion, and one-timeFuture of Stardom Champion. She was also a founding member ofCosmic Angels and the leader ofClub Venus, later becoming co-leader alongsideMaika when the group was rebranded as Empress Nexus Venus.

Early life

Mina Shirakawa was born inTokyo on December 26, 1987.[4] She studied the English language andAmerican literature atAoyama Gakuin University.[5] She worked as a wedding planner before becoming a professional wrestler.[5]

Professional wrestling career

Independent circuit (2018–2020)

Shirakawa began training for a professional wrestling career withTokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW),[6] and made her debut at the age of 31 during Best Body Japan Pro-Wrestling (BBJ)'s inaugural event Muscle Ring on August 5, 2018.[7] She teamed up withShoko Nakajima in a losing effort againstReika Saiki and Hoshimi Muramatsu.[8] She wrestled at several other events for the promotion such as BBJ Muscle Ring 2 on October 18, 2018, where she lost against Cherry,[9] and BBJ Muscle Ring 3 on December 26, 2018, where she lost toMisaki Ohata.[10] She appeared forDDT Pro-Wrestling atRyōgoku Peter Pan 2018 on October 21, where she teamed up withMiyu Yamashita andYuki Kamifuku in a losing effort against Nakajima,Yuka Sakazaki, andMizuki in asix-woman tag team match.[11] She then wrestled mostly for TJPW, with her debut occurring on the second night of TJP 5th Anniversary Shin-Kiba Tour on November 4, 2018, where she and Saiki lost a tag team match to Nakajima andMaki Itoh.[12]CMLL and Lady's Ring held their second joint show Numero Dos on January 22, 2020, where the main event saw CMLL representativeDalys la Caribeña defeat Lady's Ring representative Shirakawa in a two-out-of-three falls match to win theCMLL Japan Women's Championship.

World Wonder Ring Stardom (2020–2025)

Shirakawa debuted inWorld Wonder Ring Stardom on October 3, 2020, atYokohama Cinderella 2020, where she defeatedHanan. Shirakawa,Tam Nakano andUnagi Sayaka formedCosmic Angels. At Road To Osaka Dream Cinderella on December 16, Cosmic Angels won theArtist of Stardom Championship by defeatingOedo Tai (Bea Priestley,Natsuko Tora andSaki Kashima).[13]

AtAll Star Dream Cinderella on March 3, 2021, Shirakawa competed in a24-women Stardom All Star Rumble where she faced various returning Stardom legends.[14] Cosmic Angels feuded withDonna Del Mondo at the beginning of 2021. As a result, Shirakawa teamed up withUnagi Sayaka to unsuccessfully challengeHimeka andMaika for theGoddesses of Stardom Championship at New Century 2021 In Shinjuku on March 14.[15] On the first night of the2021 Cinderella Tournament on April 10, Shirakawa lost toUtami Hayashishita.[16] Shirakawa won theFuture of Stardom Championship atYokohama Dream Cinderella 2021 in Summer on July 4 by defeating Unagi Sayaka in the finals of a tournament for the vacant title.[17] Shirakawa participated in the Red Stars block of the2021 5 Star Grand Prix. She scored a total of six points, which was not enough to advance to the finals.[18] Shirakawa participated in the Blue Goddesses block of the2021 Goddesses of Stardom Tag League with Tam Nakano asDream H. They scored a total of three points, which was not enough to advance to the finals.[19] AtTokyo Super Wars on November 27, Shirakawa unsuccessfully challenged Tam Nakano for theWonder of Stardom Championship.[20] AtOsaka Super Wars on December 18, Shirakawa, Unagi Sayaka and Tam Nakano lost toStars (Hazuki,Koguma andMayu Iwatani) in asix-woman tag team match as part of a¥10 Million Unit tournament.[21] AtDream Queendom on December 29, Shirakawa, Mai Sakurai and Unagi Sayaka unsuccessfully challengedMaiHimePoi for the Artist of Stardom Championship.[22]

AtNagoya Supreme Fight on January 29, 2022, Shirakawa lost toThekla in a match for the vacantSWA World Championship.[23] AtCinderella Journey on February 23, Shirakawa and Unagi Sayaka unsuccessfully challengedFWC for the Goddesses of Stardom Championship.[24] Shirakawa participated in the2022 Cinderella Tournament, in which she was eliminated in the first round on byMirai on April 3.[25]

AtDream Queendom 2 on December 29, 2022, Shirakawa was accompanied to the ring for her match by English wrestlersMariah May andXia Brookside. Shirakawa and herCosmic Angels stablemateUnagi Sayaka went on to defeatDonna Del Mondo (Mai Sakurai andThekla). Following the match, Shirakawa slapped Sayaka and announced the formation ofClub Venus, a trio of herself, Brookside, and May.[26] On the final night of the2023 Cinderella Tournament on April 15, 2023, Shirakawa,Natsupoi,Saki andTam Nakano lost to Donna Del Mondo (Giulia,Himeka,Maika and Thekla). Following the match, Shirakawa announced that Club Venus would part ways with Cosmic Angels and become an independent unit.[27]

On April 23, 2023, atAll Star Grand Queendom, Shirakawa won theWonder of Stardom Championship by defeatingSaya Kamitani.[28] On May 4, Shirakawa had her first successful title defense by defeating Natsupoi.[29] AtFlashing Champions on May 27, Shirakawa lost the Wonder of Stardom Championship to Tam Nakano in awinner takes all match where Nakano'sWorld of Stardom Championship was also on the line, ending Shirakawa's reign after 34 days.[30] AtSunshine 2023 on June 25, Shirakawa and Mariah May, together known asRose Gold, won theGoddesses of Stardom Championship by defeatingThe New Eras.[31] AtStardom x Stardom: Osaka Summer Team on August 13, Rose Gold lost the Goddesses of Stardom Championship toREStart.[32]

On January 20, 2024, Shirakawa, Hanako,Maika,Waka Tsukiyama and Xena reformedClub Venus into a new stable, with Shirakawa and Maika being the co-leaders.[33][34] On January 27, the new stable was given the nameEmpress Nexus Venus.[35] On March 30, Shirakawa, Maika and Xena won theArtist of Stardom Championship by defeatingAbarenbo GE.[36] On March 25, 2025, it was reported byTokyo Sports that Shirakawa would be leaving Stardom at the end of the month and linked her to joiningAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) orWWE.[37] On March 26 at a press conference, Shirakawa confirmed the report and announced that she would be joining AEW after finishing her final commitments with Stardom.[38][39] On April 18 at Day 2 ofStardom American Dream 2025, Shirakawa and Raychell Rose lost a tag team match againstHazuki andSuzu Suzuki in what would be her final Stardom match.[citation needed]

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (2022–present)

Shirakawa made herNew Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) debut atRumble on 44th Street on October 18, 2022, teaming withWaka Tsukiyama in a losing effort againstKylie Rae and Tiara James.

During night 1 ofThe New Beginning in Sapporo on February 23, 2024, Shirakawa returned to NJPW, unsuccessfully challenging Mayu Iwatani for theIWGP Women's Championship.[40][41]

AtWrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025, Shirakawa lost toMercedes Moné in aWinner Takes All match where herUndisputed British Women's Championship and Moné'sNJPW Strong Women's andAEW TBS titles were all on the line.[42][43] On April 11, atWindy City Riot, Shirakawa competed againstAZM to determine the number one contender for the Strong Women's Championship, however, the match ended in a doublecountout.[44] This led to a three-way match on May 9, during the main event ofResurgence, with Moné defending the title, which ended with AZM walking away with the title.[45]

All Elite Wrestling / Ring of Honor (2024–present)

Shirakawa made her ROH debut duringRing of Honor Wrestling on March 21, 2024, in a winning effort againstAnna Jay.[46]On April 5, atSupercard of Honor, in aStardom showcase six-woman tag team match, Shirakwa teamed withMaika, her former ally inEmpress Nexus Venus andMei Seira to defeat the team ofTam Nakano andQueen's Quest (AZM andSaya Kamitani).[47] Shirakawa made her debut for ROH's sister promotionAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) on the April 11, 2024, episode ofDynamite, savingMariah May after she was being attacked by Anna Jay.[48] Shirakawa faced theAEW Women's World Champion"Timeless" Toni Storm atForbidden Door, but Storm retained the title.[49] After May won the AEW Women's World Championship,[50] May turned on Shirakawa atFull Gear,[51] leading to a match for the title atDynamite: Winter is Coming on December 11, where she failed to win the title.[52][53]

On March 26, 2025, Shirakawa confirmed that she would leaveWorld Wonder Ring Stardom and join AEW after finishing her commitments with Stardom.[38][39] She wrestled her first match as an AEW talent on May 14 atDynamite: Beach Break, defeating Storm, AZM, andSkye Blue in a women's world title eliminator match, earning another shot against Storm for the women's world title that was later made official for May 25 atDouble or Nothing.[54] On May 25 atDouble or Nothing, she failed to win the title from Storm.[55]On July 2, during the 300th episode ofDynamite, Shirakawa challengedMercedes Moné for theAEW TBS Championship, however, was unsuccessful.[56] On July 11, 2025, atSupercard of Honor, Shirakawa defeatedMiyu Yamashita,Persephone, andYuka Sakazaki in a four-way match to become theinterimROH Women's World Television Champion, whilelineal championRed Velvet was out with injury.[57] On August 29, during the main event ofDeath Before Dishonor, Shirakawa challengedAthena for theROH Women's World Championship, however, was unsuccessful.[58] AtWrestleDream on October 18, Shirakawa answered an open challenge issued by Mercedes Moné, putting her Interim ROH Women's World Television Championship on the line in aWinner Takes All match alongside Moné's TBS Championship. Shirkawa was defeated in the match, ending her reign at 100 days.[59] On November 12 atBlood & Guts, Shirakawa competed in the first ever women'sBlood and Guts match, but her team was defeated.[60]

Professional wrestling style and persona

Having developed large breasts during puberty, Shirakawa performed as agravure model for a time in her 20s,[5][61] and later incorporated this into her professional wrestling persona; she sometimes uses the monikers "The FightingH-Cup Gravure Wrestler"[5] and "TheVenus of Pro Wrestling", the latter of which formed the concept for her teamClub Venus.[5]

Shirakawa has said thatJushin Thunder Liger inspired her to pursue a career in professional wrestling, which she began at the relatively late age of 31.[61][62] Some of her signatures moves include a modifiedcradle pin calledGlamorous Collection MINA, adriver calledFigure Four Driver MINA,[63] ahurricanrana/leg drop hybrid calledHurricane Leg Screw MINA,[64] and ahigh-angle reverse DDT calledGlamorous Driver MINA.[5][65]

In AEW, Shirakawa is presented as sexually attracted to other women, notably shown through her affectionate and romantic interactions with Mariah May, including sharing a kiss and describing their relationship by saying "we love each other",[66] as well as kissing Toni Storm following their match atDouble or Nothing (2025).[67]
