Mike Kelley (born December 31, 1959) is an American former professionalfootballquarterback. He played for theTampa Bay Bandits andMemphis Showboats in theUnited States Football League (USFL). After the USFL failed, he joined theSan Diego Chargers of theNational Football League (NFL) as areplacement player during the 1987 strike. Eight years after his stint with the Chargers, he came out of retirement at age 35 to serve as backup quarterback on theMemphis Mad Dogs, aCanadian Football League (CFL) team. He playedcollegiately for theGeorgia Tech football team. He was inducted into the Georgia Tech Hall of Fame in 1992.[1][2]
