Mike Inglis is aCanadiansportscaster. He is the former radioplay-by-play voice of theNBA'sMiami Heat.
Raised inToronto,Ontario, Inglis is a graduate ofHumber College. He began broadcasting in the early 1980s atCKAR inOshawa, Ontario, providing play-by-play for theNASL'sToronto Blizzard and theOHL'sOshawa Generals. From 1984 to 1986, he was the play-by-play forWinnipeg Blue Bombers games onCFRW, where he was also the sports director.[1] In 1987, he was briefly the radio play-by-play voice of theIndiana Pacers. He stayed inIndiana for a few more years, and served as the radiocolor commentator of theNFL'sIndianapolis Colts from 1990 to 1991, alongsideBob Lamey.
In 1995, he became the first radio play-by-play man inToronto Raptors history, broadcasting onCFRB 1010 alongsidePaul Jones. After the1997–98 season, the Raptors' radio rights were shifted to theFan 590, and Inglis was subsequently hired by theMiami Heat in 1998. He was the radio voice of the Heat until his retirement on September 7, 2021.[2]
