Fermín Guerra Romero (October 11, 1912 – October 9, 1992), nicknamed "Mike" in the United States, was aCuban professionalbaseballcatcher who played inMajor League Baseball (MLB) for theWashington Senators (1937; 1944–46; 1951),Philadelphia Athletics (1947–50) andBoston Red Sox (1951). Guerra also playedCuban Winter League baseball for two decades, 1934–55. He was listed as 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and 155 pounds (70 kg), and threw and batted right-handed.
Guerra was born inHavana. In nine Major League seasons, he played in 565games. In 1,581at bats and 1,750plate appearances; Guerra recorded 168runs scored, 382hits, 42doubles, 14triples, ninehome runs, 168runs batted in (RBI), 25stolen bases, 131bases on balls, a .242batting average, .300on-base percentage, .303slugging percentage, 479total bases, and 37sacrifice hits.
