Raw oysters on the half-shell served withcocktail and mignonette sauces

Mignonette sauce is acondiment made with mincedshallots, crackedpepper, andvinegar traditionally served with rawoysters.

The Frenchtermmignonnette originally referred to asachet of peppercorns,cloves, and spices used to flavor liquids, but now means cracked pepper.

While mignonettesauces may differ based on the type of vinegar, all contain pepper and shallots.[1][2][3]
