Mikkilineni Madhavarao,[1] better known asMickey J. Meyer, is an Indianmusic composer andsinger known for his works predominantly inTelugu Cinema. He has received twoFilmfare Awards South, and three stateNandi Awards for theBest Music Direction. An alumnus ofTrinity College of Music, Meyer started his career in 2005 and composed music for films such asHappy Days (2007),Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008),Leader (2010),A Aa (2016) andShyam Singha Roy (2021).
Meyer was born in Hyderabad. His father was a violinist and his mother was a singer.[1][2] As a child, Meyer learned piano and violin.[2] Since he was trained incarnatic music, he sangghazals forAll India Radio.[2] He studied atTrinity College of Music in London.[2] After being inspired byA. R. Rahman, he took up a career in music.[2]Tammareddy Bharadwaja gave him a chance for the filmPothe Poni (2006) before he received his breakthrough withHappy Days (2007).[2]
