American actor, filmmaker, and celebrity baseball fan

Michael Sergio is anactor, director, writer and producer best known for parachuting intoShea Stadium during Game 6 of the1986 World Series, wearing a sign proclaiming "GoMets". Immediately arrested, Sergio spent a short time in jail because he would not reveal the name of the pilot who flew him overQueens that evening. SenatorAl D'Amato later intervened on his behalf, and Sergio was released.[1][2]

Career

Michael Sergio portrayed Rick in thecult classicslasher filmThe House on Sorority Row (1983).

He won aDaytime Emmy for directing theRingling Bros. 1996 TV Circus Special[3] and was nominated for aDaytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Directing forCreating the Wizard of Oz on Ice at the23rd Daytime Emmy Awards.[4]

Sergio also wrote and directed the independent featureUnder Hellgate Bridge (2000), featuringThe Sopranos regularsDominic Chianese,Vincent Pastore, andFrank Vincent.[5]
