Michael Polansky (born September 26, 1983)^[1] is an American entrepreneur andventure capitalist.^[2] He is engaged toLady Gaga and has co-written various songs with her.^[3][4]

Polansky was born in theU.S. state ofMinnesota.^[5] His father, Steven Polansky, is a writer ofJewish heritage,^[6][7] and his mother, Ellen Woods, is thepresident of the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education.^[7]

He studiedapplied mathematics andcomputer science atHarvard University.^[8][9] He enrolled in 2002 and graduated in 2006.^[10][11]

Polansky is founder or co-founder of the companies Avos Capital Management, Hawktail, and Outer Biosciences. He is a board member ofParker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy and Lady Gaga'scosmetics brandHaus Labs.^[12] Polansky is theexecutive director of the Parker Foundation, which he co-founded withSean Parker in 2015.^[11][13] He has also been thechief operating officer of Airtime, which was founded by Parker andShawn Fanning in 2011. Polansky has been involved in other projects by Parker.^[14]

Polansky was a co-executive producer of Lady Gaga's 2024 soundtrack albumHarlequin and co-wrote and reworked the traditional songs "Get Happy", "Good Morning", "If My Friends Could See Me Now", and "Oh, When the Saints".^[15] He also has writing and production credits on Lady Gaga's 2025 studio albumMayhem,^[16] including "The Beast", "Blade of Grass", "Disease", "Don't Call Tonight", "How Bad Do U Want Me", "LoveDrug", and "Vanish into You".^[17][18] He and Lady Gaga also co-wrote the original song "All I Need Is Time".^[19] In addition, he co-producedthe Mayhem Ball, Gaga's 2025–26 world tour, which was designed as a theatrical production divided into acts.^[20]

Polansky is based in San Francisco, as of 2024.^[21]

As of 2025, Polansky is engaged toLady Gaga.^[22][23] The couple started dating in 2020.^[24] When he asked how he should propose to her, she suggested using a blade of grass, which inspired her song of the same name onMayhem.^[25][26]
