TheMexican spotted wood turtle (Rhinoclemmys rubida) orMexican spotted terrapin is a species ofturtle in the familyGeoemydidae.
It isendemic toMexico. It inhabits the Pacific slope of southern Mexico, from sea level to 1350 meters elevation.[1]
There are two recognized subspecies.R. rubida rubida ranges inhabits Oaxaca and Chiapas, andR. rubida perixantha inhabits Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, and Guerrero.[1]
