Town on the Black Sea coast of ancient Bithynia

Metroon (Ancient Greek:Μητρῷον), also calledAulia. was a town on theBlack Sea coast ofancient Bithynia, described byArrian (Periplus of the Euxine Sea 19) as 80 stades (ca. 13 km) east ofHeraclea Pontica.[1]

Its site is located nearKöseağzı inAsiatic Turkey.[1][2]
