Methandriol bisenanthoyl acetate (brand nameNotandron-Depot), ormethylandrostenediol bisenanthoyl acetate, also known as17α-methylandrost-5-ene-3β,17β-diol 3β,17β-di(3-oxononanoate), is asynthetic, injectedanabolic–androgenic steroid (AAS) and a17α-alkylatedderivative of5-androstenediol.[1][2] It is anandrogen ester—specifically, the C3β,17β di(3-oxononanoate) (or dienanthoylacetate)ester ofmethandriol (17α-methyl-5-androstenediol)—and acts as aprodrug of methandriol in the body.[1] Methandriol bisenanthoyl acetate is administered byintramuscular injection and, relative to methandriol, has an extended duration via this route due to adepot effect afforded by itsester.[citation needed]
