Metazosin is anantihypertensive α₁-adrenergic receptor antagonist.^[1]^[2]

Synthesis

Theamide (3) is formed whenpiperazine is reacted with 2-methoxypropionylchloride (2). Metazosin is the product when this intermediate is reacted with the substitutedquinazoline (4).^[3]^[4]
