Mesut Bakkal (born 19 March 1964) is a Turkish professionalfootballmanager and former player, currently coachingŞanlıurfaspor.
Amidfielder, he played forDenizlispor, and later was manager ofAnkaragücü,Denizlispor,Gaziantepspor,Gençlerbirliği S.K.,Karabükspor,Manisaspor, andSamsunspor.[1] He was head coach ofBB Erzurumspor until March 2021.
Born inKırıkkale toCircassian parents fromBilecik, Northwest Turkey,[2] Bakkal began playing football for local sideKırıkkalespor. He would later play forDenizlispor,Afyonspor, andİzmirspor before retiring from active play in 1994.
After his playing career ended, Bakkal became a football manager. He resigned as Gençlerbirliği's manager for the second time in his career, on 3 November 2008.[3]
In 2009 he received aUEFA Pro License.[4]
