Merdare (Serbian Cyrillic:Мердаре) is avillage located in the municipality ofKuršumlija,Serbia. According to the 2011 census, the village has a population of 151 people.[2] A border crossing between Serbia andKosovo is located in Merdare.
During the2022–present North Kosovo crisis barricades were formed near the Merdare border crossing, Due to the barricades, the government ofKosovo closed the Merdare border crossing on 28 December, but after an agreement with theKosovo Serbs they agreed to start dismantling the barricades, the barricades were removed by 30 December and the border crossing was reopened.[3][4][5][6]
