Uber Arena (previouslybranded as O2 World and Mercedes-Benz Arena) is a multipurposeindoor arena in theFriedrichshain neighborhood ofBerlin,Germany, which opened in 2008.[5] The venue became known asUber Arena following a long-term deal with venue operators AEG Europe in 2024.[6]

With a maximum capacity of 17,000 people (for concerts orMMA),[7] it is home to theEisbären Berlinice hockey club and theAlba Berlinbasketball team, and is used for other athletic and civic events, as well as concerts.[5]

The arena hosted threeEuroLeague Final Four's (2009,2016, and most recently2024), which is the European professionalbasketball club competition.[8] The arena was one of the most prominent elements of theMediaspree urban redevelopment project, quickly gaining emblematic status in the debates surrounding the project's impact. The arena hosted the2022 Premier League Darts final on 13 June 2022.

Naming rights

In 2015, German car manufacturerMercedes-Benz reached a deal with the arena management to rename the venue Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin for twenty years.[9] Between 2008 and 2015, the arena was known as O2 World Berlin (German:[ɔʊˈtuːˌvœːɐ̯lt]) due to sponsorship contract withTelefónica Germany, a telecommunications company.

In March 2024, the arena became known as theUber Arena, following a long-term deal with venue operators AEG Europe.[6] Theadjacent venue rebranded from the Verti Music Hall to theUber Eats Music Hall, and the entertainment quarter rebranded from Mercedes Platz to Uber Platz.
