Mentat Portable Streams (MPS) was aplatform independent implementation of theUNIX System VSTREAMS networkingprotocol stack, normally sold with theMentat TCP stack providingTCP/IP support. Portable Streams was used in a number of commercial products, includingApple Computer'sOpen Transport,AIX,VxWorks,Palm OS's Cobalt,Novell'sUnixWare and other systems.[1][failed verification] Mentat also ported the system toLinux[2] andWindows NT[3][failed verification] as a standalone product. Portable Streams was written by Mentat, who was purchased byPacketeer in 2004.[4]
