Fernando de Melo Viana (15 March 1878 – 10 February 1954) was aBrazilian politician who was thevice president of Brazil from 15 November 1926 to 24 October 1930 serving under PresidentWashington Luís.[1] As vice president, he also served as thePresident of the Senate.[2] Later, he served as President of the 1946 Constituent Assembly.
He studied legal science at the Faculty of Law of Ouro Preto (Now the Faculty of Law at theFederal University of Minas Gerais). He later practiced law atUberaba. He vice president underWashington Luis' administration and the 2ndmulatto to hold the position.
