



Melnik Peak (Bulgarian:връх Мельник,romanized: vrah Melnik,IPA:[ˈvrɤxˈmɛɫnik]) is the 696 m summit ofMelnik Ridge in easternLivingston Island,South Shetland Islands inAntarctica. SurmountingKaliakra Glacier to the north and west, andStruma Glacier to the southeast. The peak takes its name fromMelnik Ridge.
First ascent byLyubomir Ivanov andDoychin Vasilev fromCamp Academia on 28 December 2004, as part ofTangra 2004/05 survey.[1][2]
The peak is located at62°36′06.4″S60°09′11.2″W / 62.601778°S 60.153111°W /-62.601778; -60.153111, which is 4.04 km southwest ofSindel Point, 2.41 km northwest ofAtanasoff Nunatak, 1.26 km north ofAsparuh Peak, 3.03 km northeast by east ofMount Bowles, 3.5 km east by north ofHemus Peak, 4.05 km southeast by south ofCastra Martis Hill, and 7.4 km south ofMiziya Peak (Bulgarian topographic surveyTangra 2004/05, and mapping in 2005 and 2009).
