Meghna Chakrabarti is an American journalist and radio producer. She is the host ofNPR'sOn Point. She was the long-time host for theModern Love podcast (a collaboration betweenWBUR andThe New York Times). She formerly hosted the WBUR local news programRadio Boston and was the primary fill-in host forHere & Now, produced by WBUR and distributed nationally by NPR.
She has aBachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering fromOregon State University (1998), aMaster of Science in Environmental Science and Risk Management fromHarvard University (2001), and aMaster of Business Administration - Finance Concentration (with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Change) fromBoston University (2013).[1][2] Born in Boston to Mumbai immigrant parents, as a child Chakrabarti's family moved to Oregon where she was raised.[3][4]
She has received awards in reporting from theAssociated Press and theRadio Television News Directors Association,[1] and her WBUR team shared the 2016 award for General Excellence in Radio/Audio from theAsian American Journalists Association.[5]
