In music, amedley is a piece composed from parts of existing pieces played one after another, sometimesoverlapping. They are common inpopular music, and most medleys are songs rather than instrumentals. A medley which is aremixed series is called amegamix, often done with tracks for a single artist, or for popular songs from a given year or genre. Acover version combining elements of multiple pre-existing songs is acover medley.[note 1]

InLatin music, medleys are known aspotpourrís ormosaicos; the latter were popularized by artists such asRoberto Faz andBillo Frómeta, and most commonly consist ofboleros,guarachas,merengues orcongas.[1][2]
