Medina is anunincorporated community inBandera County,Texas, United States. It is part of theSan AntonioMetropolitan Statistical Area. Medina is famous for its apples. The community's population was estimated to be 515 in 2000.[3]
Although it is unincorporated, Medina has a post office, with the ZIP code of 78055.[4]
Medina is located at the intersection ofTexas State Highway 16 and Farm to Market Road 337, 12 mi (19 km) northwest ofBandera[3] and 21 mi (34 km) south ofKerrville[5] in central Bandera County.
The town is also located at the source of the namesakeMedina River, where it splits into the North and West Prongs.
The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to theKöppen Climate Classification system, Medina has ahumid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[6]
