Mayor Mazibur Rahman (Bengali:মেয়র মজিবুর রহমান is a Bangladeshi politician and the currentMember of Parliament Mayor Mazibur Rahman fromGazipur-1 (Kaliakair, Kashimpur, Konabari, Basan Thana) constituency.[1] He is currently serving as a member of the Central National Executive Committee of theBangladesh Nationalist Party. He is popularly known as Mayor Mazibur Rahman. Before entering parliamentary politics, he was appointed as theAdministrator of Kaliakair Municipality in 2004 and was subsequently elected Mayor several times with huge public support. He served as the Mayor of Kaliakoir Municipality for almost two decades (20 years).
Mayor Mazibur Rahman was born in a respectable Muslim family inKaliakair Upazila ofGazipur district. His childhood and adolescence were spent in the proximity of the soil and people of Gazipur. He completed his primary and secondary education from local educational institutions. In terms of higher education, he chose the Department of Political Science and achieved a Master's (MSS) degree with great success.
Mayor Mazibur Rahman is a well-known figure inGazipur district and national politics. His public representative journey began in 2004 as the administrator ofKaliakair Municipality. Later, he was elected as the mayor ofKaliakair Municipality three times in a row. Due to his long 20 years of administrative experience and strong ties with the grassroots, he rose to national politics. Currently, he is serving as an important member of the BNP Central National Executive Committee.
He was elected as aMember of Parliament for the first time from theGazipur-1 constituency on the nomination of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party in the 13th National Parliament election held on February 12, 2026.
During his tenure as Mayor, he played a groundbreaking role in the development of roads, modern drainage systems and social infrastructure in the Kaliakoir industrial area and municipal area. As a skilled administrator, he worked to increase the civic amenities of the area. Currently, as a member of the central committee and a member of parliament, he is working dedicatedly to strengthen the organizational activities of BNP and for the rights and development of the common people ofGazipur-1 area.
