Maurice MacGibbon,O. Cist. (died 1578) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served asArchbishop of Cashel (1567–1578).[1][2][3][4]
Maurice MacGibbon was ordained a priest in theCistercian Order.[2]On 4 June 1567, he was appointed during the papacy ofPope Pius V asArchbishop of Cashel.[1][2]On 15 June 1567, he wasconsecrated bishop byEgidio Valenti,Bishop of Nepi e Sutri, withThomas Goldwell,Bishop of Saint Asaph, andGiacomo Galletti,Bishop of Alessano, serving asco-consecrators.[2] He served as Archbishop of Cashel until his death in 1578.[1][2]
