Maumee Bay onLake Erie is located in theU.S. state ofOhio, just east of the city ofToledo. The bay and the surroundingwetlands form most of theMaumee River basin, and in 1975 part of the area was incorporated intoMaumee Bay State Park. The park is not huge, covering 1,450 acres (5.9 km²), but itswetlands feature some of the bestbird watching in theUnited States. The Maumee Bay area is a popular vacation spot in theMidwest, featuring several resorts and agolf course.

North Maumee Bay is a smaller part of Maumee Bay which combines the outflow of theOttawa River, Halfway Creek, Rapideau Drain, Flat Creek, Little Lake Creek and Bay Creek.
