Matnin (Arabic:متنين, also spelledMitneen) is a village in northwesternSyria, administratively part of theHama Governorate, located just west ofHama. Nearby localities includeTayzin to the north,al-Rabiaa to the west,Birin to the south andKafr Buhum to the southeast. According to theCentral Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Matnin had a population of 2,446 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantlySunni Muslims.[2]
