Mathis Suray (born 26 July 2001) is a Belgianfootballer who plays for DutchEredivisie clubGo Ahead Eagles.

Club career

He came through the youth academy atR.S.C. Anderlecht, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2020. The club reported that they wanted to extend his stay and loan him out to gain playing experience, but both parties were unable to reach an agreement on terms. In September 2020, he joinedDordrecht from Anderlecht, signing a three-year contract.[1] He made his debut for the club in a 2-0 away loss in theEerste Divisie againstTop Oss on 5 October 2020.[2] He scored his first goals for the club the following year, with a brace of goals in a 4-2 away defeat toFC Volendam in the Eerste Divisie on 29 October 2021.[3]

On 16 May 2024, Suray agreed to sign forEredivisie sideGo Ahead Eagles on a contract until 2027.[4] He made his debut for the club on 1 August 2024 in theUEFA Conference League against Norwegian clubSK Brann.[5] He played in the final of theKNVB Cup asGo Ahead Eagles won the trophy for the first time in their history, winning on penalties againstAZ Alkmaar on 21 April 2025. The game had ended 1-1 in normal time after Go Ahead Eagles scored a 98th minute equaliser. Suray's compatriot and Go Ahead Eagles goalkeeperJari De Busser had saved a penalty in regulation time from AZ's Irish strikerTroy Parrott but VAR intervened and ordered it to be retaken after ruling Suray had strayed into the penalty area prior to the kick.[6]
