Masters cycling is an age category ofcycling officially established by theUnion Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 1994.[1]
After years of pressuring the UCI by Ian Emmerson to establish an international category and event to suit for riders outside National Elite Squads, efforts were finally recognised in 1994, when after the set up of the new UCI Executive Ian was asked to set up a Commission to look at all aspects of Masters racing.
