Massimo Battara (born 3 May 1963) is an Italianfootball coach and a former player, who played as agoalkeeper. He currently works as a goalkeeping coach with theSaudi Arabia national football team. He has worked withRoberto Di Matteo both atAston Villa and atFC Schalke 04. Between 2009 until his resignation in May 2013, he was the goalkeeping coach atManchester City.[2]
Battara has also worked atInter Milan and with ex Manchester City managerRoberto Mancini, and joined City in December 2009 as part of Mancini's new coaching team.
He worked underDavid Platt inIndia atFC Pune City before joiningRoberto Di Matteo atAston Villa in 2016.
