Masao Orihara (折原昌夫,Orihara Masao)[1] (born June 16, 1969) is a Japaneseprofessional wrestler. He is known for his tenure with various Japanesepromotions such asMichinoku Pro Wrestling,Wrestle Association R,Battlarts andDramatic Dream Team.
Orihara was trained in theAll Japan Pro Wrestling Dojo underGenichiro Tenryu's tutelage. When Tenryu left forSuper World of Sports, Orihara and others followed him to the new promotion. In 1992, Orihara was sent toMexico, where he learnt the high-flyinglucha libre style and wrestled forConsejo Mundial de Lucha Libre asIga, a maskedninja character, mostly teaming with fellow young wrestler Toshiyuki Nakahara (Koga). Upon his return, SWS had been disbanded and replaced withWrestle Association R. There Orihara showed his new style and competed in memorable cruiserweight bouts withUltimo Dragon, with whom he formed a long friendship. After the WAR demise, Orihara landed inMichinoku Pro Wrestling, where he becameSasuke the Great, aThe Great Sasuke copycat. Orihara formed a tag team with Takeshi Ono (who competed as Masked Tiger) and feuded with Sasuke andTiger Mask. Alongside their work in Michinoku Pro, Orihara and Ono became a mainstay team onBattlarts. In 1999, Orihara competed inNew Japan Pro-Wrestling andDramatic Dream Team.
Currently, Orihara is a part ofSatoru Sayama's Real Japan Pro Wrestling andTenryu Project.
