Mariana Cagnin, better known asMary Cagnin, is a Brazilian comic artist.[1]
Having graduated in Visual Arts atUnesp, Cagnin currently works as an illustrator and cartoonist. In 2009 she started the manga-style seriesVidas Imperfeitas[1] in fanzine format;[2][3][4] the sixth and final issue was released as a free PDF in 2012.[5] The following year, the series was published by HQM Editora under the HQM Mangá label,[1][6] in a total of 3 issues.[2] In 2016, she launched the sci-fi storyBlack Silence, crowdfunding the project on the website Catarse.[7] In 2017, she participated in the graphic novelA Samurai: Primeira Batalha, by Mylle Silva.[8] She was awarded thePrêmio Angelo Agostini as illustrator and writer.[9][10] Also in 2017, she was invited by the Brazilian Embassy to participate in theGothenburg Book Fair. In 2019 she launched the webcomicBittersweet, which was nominated forTroféu HQ Mix in 3 categories.[11]
