The movement participated in the2021 protests[4][5][6] and the2022 anti-war protests,[7][8] and also condemned the intervention of theCSTO forces inprotest-ridden Kazakhstan.[9]

In May 2023, the unification congress of the Marxist Tendency and the communist organisation the New Reds (Russian:Новые красные,romanizedNovyye krasnyye; NK) was held. The new association was called the Organisation of Communist Internationalists and became the Russian section of the IMT.[10]
