Martin Prakkat is an Indian writer, director and film producer who works in theMalayalam film industry.

Career

Martin started his career as a celebrity photographer and worked withVanitha Magazine for 10 years.[1] In 2010, Martin directedBest Actor starringMammootty in the lead role. The movie was a commercial success and received positive reviews from critics.[2] His second movie as a director wasAmerican-born Confused Desi (ABCD) starringDulquer Salman andAparna Gopinath. The movie was released in 2013 and went on to become a box office success.[3] His latest movieNayattu was released on 08 April 2021.

Charlie was the highlight at theKerala State Film Awards 2015 winning in 8 categories,[4] with Martin bagging the award for thebest director, Martin-Unni R. combo winning the award forbest screenplay,Dulquer winning thebest actor for his performance inCharlie and Parvathy winning thebest actress award for her performance inCharlie andEnnu Ninte Moideen. Cinematographer of the movie,Jomon T. John bagged the award for thebest cinematographer for his work inCharlie,Ennu Ninte Moideen andNee-Na.[5]
